How to use a nail service pricing worksheet

Setting your nail service prices starts with understanding the work behind each appointment. A pricing worksheet gives you one place to organize service time, supply costs, overhead, and your profit goal before choosing a price.

Here’s how to use the Service pricing planner in the PrintKitCo Nail Tech Business Kit.

1. Choose one service and record its time

Start with a service you offer, such as a gel manicure. Write its name in the Service column and note the time you need. Include preparation and cleanup when estimating how much of your working day the appointment uses.

2. Estimate supply costs

Use the Supply cost column for the materials used during that service. Consider portions of products, disposable items, and other supplies rather than the full purchase price of a bottle used across many appointments.

3. Allow for overhead

Overhead includes business expenses that aren’t tied to a single set of nails. Estimate an appropriate share of costs such as workspace rent, utilities, and booking tools for each appointment. Keep your assumptions consistent and revisit them as your expenses or appointment volume change.

4. Set a profit goal and consider your price

Record your profit goal alongside the supply and overhead estimates, then use those figures to assess a proposed service price. Make sure your approach accounts for paying yourself for your time; don’t treat the amount left after supplies as automatic take-home profit. The worksheet organizes your thinking, but it does not calculate a price for you.

Check whether the proposed price makes sense for the service, appointment length, and your business costs. Your own figures matter more than copying someone else’s price list.

5. Plan add-ons separately

Use the Add-on planner to record extra time, extra cost, and price for optional services such as nail art. This helps you see when an add-on changes both the appointment length and the materials required.

6. Review your booking details

The page also includes space for a minimum booking value and a deposit amount or percentage. Use those fields to record your business decisions and keep them consistent with the booking information you share with clients.
